Positive Results for BC Derby Day and CTHS BC Sale

Following a 21% increase in wagering at Hastings Racecourse on BC Derby Day, the CTHS Yearling and Mixed Sale also showed positive results for racing in the province.

The Grade 3 $200,000 British Columbia Derby attracted a field of 11 on Sunday, September 9 at Hastings Racecourse in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Second City , owned by Peter Redekop BC Ltd. and trained by Craig MacPherson, was the eventual winner with an impressive come from behind run winning by 2 3/4 lengths ahead of Devil In Disguise, Hoist and Taylor’s Deal.  The second to fourth place finishers were all owned by Glen Todd’s ownership syndicate, North American Horse Company Inc and trained by Troy Taylor.
